A POEM FOR HENRY by 1567412417

Silent sounds awaken the sleeper
As she lay in bed dreaming of her keeper;
Wishes forever she would be his only lover
And that he would not forsake her and love another.

Over to the window she sofly walks
Opens it carefully so that they may talk;
To her love she whispers in his ear
The haunting questions that he was to hear.

"When shall we ever be together
For the rest of my life I want to be near;
My heart aches for your touch
My soul, it pains so very much ...

"The summer days seem forever
While waiting for our nights to appear;
The dark which hides us from the overseeker
The dark which takes away our fear ...

"Oh my sweet, sweet dear
When shall we ever be near;
I promise you by the moon in the sky
If you come with me, time will not fly ...

"Leave behind your troubles and come with me
Into the wondrous world where we can be free;
Happy together we shall be
Joined as one soul for eternity."

She looked into his eyes
And waited for his response;
She listened to his pouring heart
But said that this time he must pass ...

"It is not that you are not sweet
But it's just that I am not ready for this feat;
And I want someone beside me to stay
How would that be possible if you're far far away?"

She then took a deep breath
Not expecting these words, not even till death;
“How is it that you deny me so
My heart only loves you and I cannot go ...

“How could you give up so easily
Why do you want me free;
And yet we didn’t even started
But it seems like you know what lies ahead ...

“Is this all that we could ever be
Does this make you happy;
How is it that you can ask me to part
When in your hands, you hold my heart.”
